Maira Kalman in love with Lincoln. Entendo-a perfeitamente.

Charing Cross – the fading world of books

“A book is a place…” – gosto muito.
E ainda: “They aren’t on the subway; they’re in the story, saving mankind.”

Maira Kalman in love with Lincoln. I can so get her.
(Which reminds me of the geographies that form our minds. The American Civil War is one of those things that exert an inexplicable fascination over me – lighthouses and rocky coasts, the Galápagos islands, Darwin, the Middle Ages, catastrophe movies, British History and the English countryside, the Amazon forest, Japan, Kenya’s mountains, the Scottish highlands, and very deserted, abandoned Mid-West American roads with solitary gas stations like in Bagdad Café being a few of the others)
